TOPIC: Where is config directory
#10897
Where is config directory 5 Years, 1 Month ago
I just purchased Rainlendar2 (after trying first) and cannot find the .rainlendar2 config directory in Ubuntu 9.04 (installed with DEB). I have looked under ~/ , ~/.config , and ~/Documents. I have set nautilus to show hidden files and folders but cannot find any where. Any suggestions?

I am wondering if there is a problem with the deb install. I am contemplating doing a installation with the tarball but would really rather stay with the debs. Any suggestions would be helpful.

You could search the ini files in the root directory.

I have look into the deb file. The path is /usr/share/rainlendar2.
I installed rainlendar from the tarball. I haven't any problems with the directory ~.

Did you have started rainlendar once time?

The config directory is correct. You must start rainlendar at first and then you can find the config files!

P.S. I have tried this in virtualbox

Yes I found /usr/share/rainlendar2 and noticed the skin directory. I have installed several skins (r2skins) and they are not in /usr/share/rainlendar2/skins. Where did they go?

I have opened rainlendar MANY times and there is not a .rainlendar2 or .config/ranlendar2 directory anywhere.

If you have a .config folder it is ~/.config/.rainlendar2 note it still has a . This is independent of the method you use to install Rainlendar.

The skins folder has been moved into ~/.config/.rainlendar2/skins so that you don't need root to install skins and they are saved during a backup of your home.

For Windows XP:

C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\.rainlendar2

For Vista/7:

C:\Users\UserName\Not Sure
