TOPIC: high cpu use

high cpu use 3 Years, 5 Months ago
perhaps high is not the right way to describe this. a constant 3% to me is a tad high to keep a calendar and an 'events' window on the desktop. on the hour, every hour it spikes my cpu to about 54-65%. i do not see why in the options. i cant think of any reason it would do this. i don't think it should take more CPU than say, firefox or mIRC.

i do like the concept and how easy this is to work. i do not like how...hardware intensive this is...

is there anything i can do to stop the cpu hogging? i have a zillion things running (65 processes normally), but this is #1 or #2 for processor use.

any ideas?

according to Process Lasso rainlander takes 3% cpu, and spikes to 15% often. accordimng to auslogics task manager, it eats up 2%. should i set this on low low low priority?

Just to be sure, which skins and which windows are you using?
Maybe isn't a problem on Rainlendar but a skin/window redrawing issue.

theres a 'vertical calendar' and the 'events', i also have a digi clock in the upper right hand corner. its only a clock. the calendar and digi clock are a shadow4, the events window is a Chromophore along with the tray icon. 3 windows and a tray icon.

You don't have too many windows, so 2%/3% isn't much CPU usage.
The digiclock (besides the fact that its a clock) is redrawed every second.
Also, if you have many events drawed in the calendar, this could be slower.

If you want to check, make a copy first of your user folder (see FAQ to find out). Then remove all windows. Check. Then add the calendar. Check. Add the digiclock. Check. And the event window. Check. Or try one by one. Maybe only one of them is using the CPU more than the others.
