how can i install skins?

i can't find the _something.r2skin file in my download!

So, what did you download? If it was a just a zip file with images and ini files it's the old format skin which needs to be extracted into the skins folder. Check the FAQ for details.

Every skin i download from the site is just .ini 's and pictures...which FAQ topic explains how to run these old format files ? because I've tried just extracting and NONE of them will work...so i must be doing something wrong.

Quote from the FAQ:

To install old skins you need to uncompress the skin into the Rainlendar's skins-folder. Make sure that no extra folders are created when you unzip the archive. There must be only one subfolder under the skins-folder where the skin's ini-file(s) are located. After you refresh the calendar the skin should appear in the skin list. If that doesn't happen check the Rainlendar's log file for possible errors.
