Temporarily disable task or event? 4 Years, 4 Months ago

Is there a way to temporarily disable a task or event?
I sometimes have a situation where I want to remove an item from the calendar for a period of time, but don't want to reenter all the details again to put it back.
Example scenarios:
1) Occasional reminder item. Regularly want to show, but not always. Would like to just 'check box' to re-enable when needed.
2) Weekly reminder for work related event. When on holidays, disable this weekly event.

I know only the way in Event-Recurrence-Exception Dates. All dates are disable which in Exception Dates.

You can create a new category and set it as excluded from the calendar and other windows (from advanced skin settings). Then when you don't want to see an event anymore just change it's category. This will not stop the alarms though.

Thanks, however I'm having problems completing the last step.
When I set the 'Excluded Categories' value and click OK, it is never remembered.

Are you using the latest build (build 69)?

I don't think so. 'About' says Version 2.4(b64) Aug 24 2008.
I'll upgrade to the latest version soon and let you know how that try goes.
Edit: Just downloaded again and it was the same version. I'm using the Lite edition.
Ok, found the beta version.
