TOPIC: Priority in Events and Todos

Priority in Events and Todos 7 Years, 10 Months ago
Hi there,

I created some dummy Events for a certain day, with no hour precised. For each of the events, I chose a Category.
In the xml files I changed the priority of the categories from 10 to 100 (10, 20,... 90, 100).
I'd like to see the Events arranged in the EventsList in such a way that it corresponds to the appropriate level of Priority (at least for that "certain" day).
It doesn't seem to work.
Is it possible to achieve that, and how?...

And has anybody found a way to show more than 7 days in the EventsList ?

Many thanks in advance.

Blaise

So, I did some more tests.
Apparently the Priority works very well with the colors in the dual calendar (this is the one I installed), but it doesn't work in the EventsList...
By the way, I changed the "priority" in the "elements" xml file, from 0 to 9, just in case...
And I really don't know how the software arranges the events that I created, because it's not by the "priority" that I changed in the xml file, it's not alphabetical. In fact it seems to be "at random", and this is annoying.
Any clue ?...
Waiting for your help

Let's put it another way.
Is it possible to give a Priority order to the different Categories ?
And is it possible to sort the Events (when there's no hour precised, for a same day) or ToDo's according to their Categories ?
Am I clear enough in my request ?
Thanks for helping...

Ok ! I've got a solution to sort the ToDo's in the Todo list, according to the Priority that you give to the Categories.
You just have to rename the categories in the Elements Xml file. And you do it this way : "O1 - Important", "02 - Professional Project", "03 - Work", etc... depending on the order of the categories (01 being the most important and 99 being the least important). BUT don't forget to UpDate these names in the Options -> Advanced -> DefaultCategories as well !
The categories will be correctly sorted in the ToDo list, because the sorting is alphanumerical.
But this doesn't work for the categories in the Events List.
Does anybody have a solution ?

The event list is sorted by the start time. If the time is equal the order is somewhat random. I'm not sure if it's possible to use the category priority for the sorting since an event can have multiple categories and the priority is also changed by the recurrence. I'll have to think about this.

Hi Rainy,

First let me tell you that I think your application is just GREAT !
I downloaded and installed the "b29", wonderful ! The fact to be able to see the events several months from now is so convenient. Such a good job !
Now, concerning the possibility to sort the events according to their priority, just keep us posted if you don't mind.

Once again, THANK YOU !!!
