XML Entities 7 Years, 8 Months ago
Hello!
I'm editing elements.xml to rename categories into other languages in order to make Rainlendar 2 skins compatible with that language's Outlook categories.

I cannot use characters like or , and I cannot use entities like ñ.
What can I do to use that characters then?

Thank you

If I'm understanding your problem correctly...

You could use the 'Character Map' application in Windows (usually in the 'Accessories' group) to select and copy a character.

Or the old trick of inputing a characters code by pressing 'Alt' and typing its code number on the number pad. Not sure if that still works - it's been donkey's years since I needed to use it.

OK let me explain as I see I didn't before.

Actually I can use characters like or --it doesn't matter where do I take them from--, and also entities like ñ.
But if I use them, the XML file elements.xml cannot be parsed by a normal XML parser; either because characters which are not ASCII are not recognized or because entities have not been defined.

That is my problem.

Would it work for Rainlendar 2 anyways even if it cannot be parsed?<br><br>Post edited by: jago84, at: 2006/12/08 22:37

If you use non-ascii characters in the xml the file must be saved in utf-8 format.
