Rainlendar opens black after update in Ubuntu 4 Years, 4 Months ago
Up till now I haven't had any problems with Rainlendar2. I use Linux Ubuntu 10 and I did an update/upgrade and suddenly when Rainlendar2 opens, it's all black. Can't see any thing but the shape of the program.

Has anyone experienced this, or does anyone know how I might fix it? Any guidance is greatly appreciated. I've attached a screenshot.

Thank you!

I haven't seen this before. Does it help if you change the transparency type (Options->Advanced->Transparency type)?

Hi Rainy,

Thank you for your quick response. I tried changing to all settings (copy, native, region) but all still produce same situation. Any other thoughts?

Thank you.

There isn't anything special how the window is drawn so I don't know why it doesn't work. Even if the images were not loaded or drawn correctly you should still see at least the text in the windows. I'm running the latest Ubuntu myself too but I have never seen this kind of issue.

I have the same problem. I was using Ubuntu 10.04 (lucid) with the xorg-edgers PPA, so when it upgraded libcairo2 from 1.8.x to 1.9.x Rainlendar started black. Now in Ubuntu 10.10 (maverick) with the default libcairo2 1.9.14 Rainlendar has black windows.

With the Kwin composition Rainlendar windows are transparent.

Can the package libcairomm 1.8 be the problem? Maybe it has to be in version 1.9

Tested with the latest stable (b91), beta b85, and beta b94 from Rainlendar.

aMule (also wxwidgets app) works ok.

I wish I was a saavy as you to know this much. I never got any real help or over on Ubuntu forums so I just uninstalled Meerkat and went back to Lucid. So, now it's working again.
