all settings lost; missing "license.r2lic&quo 7 Years, 11 Months ago
Hey there,

After a reboot following a system crash yesterday (damn Rainbow Six Vegas... ), I realized that Rainlendar's position was reset (in the center instead of at the edge of the screen), and it wasn't showing any events or tasks.
Indeed, none of my settings, which I had taken great pains to optimize, were as they used to be - including the list of calendar files to be used!
However, a quick look at the ICS files shows that everything's still there apparently, so at least they haven't been corrupted.

Is there a way to retrieve my old settings? I'd really hate to go through that again...

Either way, looks like a good way to start into the new year...

I'm on Windows XP, using Rainlendar2 Lite v2.0.1 (b28).
Here's this morning's log file:10:06:42: Error: can't open file 'D:\Portable Apps\Rainlendar\license.r2lic' (error 2: das System kann die angegebene Datei nicht finden.)

Since Rainlendar cannot find the settings they are probably gone for good. You can try to search your system for rainlendar2.ini file and see if it still contains some of your old settings.

Dammit, that's what I was afraid of...

How could that happen though? RL would be the last app I'd expect to suffer in the event of a system crash; after all, I'd suppose that file operations are rather rare once it's perfectly set up!?

I've actually had this problem twice too. Luckily I have a backup of everything on my computer so I just restored the settings file and it worked perfectly again. I think it also happened after a crash. If it happens with the new release i'll get a copy of the log and see what it actually does to the settings file.

Ok, happened again to me today with Rainlendar 2.0.2. This time it was not after a system crash. I've attached the config file (seems to be back to defaults) and here's what the log said:

Code:
