TOPIC: Problems with Google two-factor authentication

Problems with Google two-factor authentication 2 Years, 4 Months ago
I've started using Google two-factor authentication a few days ago, and have run in to a problem with Rainlendar on this.

I have generated an application specific password for Rainlendar, and when I enter it, it works and retrieves my calendars. But after a reboot, Rainlendar fails to fetch the calendars, telling me the password is wrong!

Anybody else have this problem? How to solve it?

Does the password revert back to the old one in the settings when you restart Rainlendar (i.e. does it show a different number of dots)?

It doesn't show any dots at all...

Can you check if the password gets stored to the settings file at all? Open the file with a text editor and search for line which starts with "Password=" and is under the [Google\ Calendar/<name of your calendar] section. The password is encoded so you don't see it as you entered it but it should change if you modify the password.

I'm not exactly sure what's happening here... I generated a third application specific password and entered it. The stored password in the ini-file did change.

I did this last night, and so far, there's no problem. I will be back if the problem returns...
