Japanese Holidays 2 Years ago
I am looking for a Japanese Holidays calendar that doesn’t crash when I try to link to it or not work when I try to subscribe filling in the form in Rainlendar 2.

I have tried the one on iCalendar. When trying to add it from inside Rainlendar this message pops up after the program resets:

Network Error (537)!
Unable to parse the file:
icalshare.com/calendars/537
The file might be corrupted.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

That calendar is in WebDAV protocol (webcal://)
Rainlendar can use WebDAV calendars, but only if it also support the http protocol (http://)

webcal://calendar.planettokyo.com/ical/Japanese%20Holidays.ics <--- your calendar
http://calendar.planettokyo.com/ical/Japanese%20Holidays.ics <--- this doesn't exists

I don’t remember, the ‘webcal’ thing kind of sounds familiar. Anyway, I will try to remember to change the http to webcal before setting the URL.

OK. It isn’t a matter of changing the protocol.

So, I am back to repeating my original request. I want to find a Japanese Holidays calendar that WILL work in Rainlendar. Does any one know where one is?

I wasn't trying to say that you entered wrong the url, I mean that it will never work on Rainlendar because the way of its implementation. Anyway, it isn't matter of protocol, it should work with both.

There are few post about webcal, but several about WebDAV and CalDAV. I think there are more or less the same thing...

I found this calendar and it's working:
webcal://ical.mac.com/ical/Japanese32Holidays.ics
But I'm not Japanese, so I can't fully say if it is complete or not.

EDIT: I also found this http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/holidays.html#J

They both work. Thank you. Unfortunately, neither seems to be complete. I know there was a Japanese holiday that just occurred last week, but it is missing from both calendars. 8-\

Aha! I am looking for Japanese festivals. Specifically, the national ones.

Marine Day: "First observed on July 20, 1996, the Happy Monday System legislation moved the date to the third Monday of July beginning in 2003."[1]

I see that "Marine Day" is the 3rd Monday of July (the last 16).
The ics from ical.mac.com is wrong, because shows it the 20.
The one from Mozilla lists only the initial date from 2007, with a 12-month recurrence. This is better than the above.

Was this the event you're looking for or is it another?
