TOPIC: change default web browser

change default web browser 2 Years, 2 Months ago
When I am pinching the web link bullets in the ToDo list of Rainlendar the Opera browser is opened by default. Is there any way to change the default web browser?

Welcome to the forum, mmtung.

Rainlendar2 uses the default web browser set by the system, so it has no idea of which browser you're using. The only way to change this is changing your default browser, but I suppose you won't do that.

Hola Jorge Luís, my system browser (Gentoo Linux) is by default set to Firefox (echo $BROWSER gives 'firefox'). So I still don't know why Opera opens in Rainlendar. Best, Mike

I checked from the code and on Linux it first tries to open the url with xdg-open and if that fails it gets the browser on Gnome like this:

"gconftool-2 --get /desktop/gnome/applications/browser/exec"

and on KDE launches the url like this:

"kfmclient openURL " + url
