Below my calendar is a Task List. I am trying to figure out how to hide it. I've chosen Options | Advanced and then I have looked under the "Task List" options. I have un-checked all the boxes in that set of options. I have changed the 'Number of days the list shows' setting to 0 and to -1, but nothing makes the Task List completely disappear.

* If you want to HIDE the task list, right click on a window -> select "windows" -> uncheck "Task List"
* If you want to REMOVE the task list you need to right click on a window -> options... -> in the left tabs, select skins -> click on advanced>>> -> a tree view will appear above the button -> select (in windows section) the one called "Shadow4 - Task List" and click on the pointing-left arrow -> click ok -> Done!

Thank you for your suggested solutions. Unfortunately, I could not get them to work for me.

First, I tried right-clicking on the Rainlendar window. In the available options, I chose "Windows". Then, I was only presented with a choice of calendar windows to display, "Dual Calendar", "Year View", or "Month View". There were few other choices, too, but none of them said anything about task list.

Then, I tried your other suggestion. However, that also did not work for me. I think it may be because I'm not using the Shadow4 skin.

Maybe the skin you're using has the Task List attached to another window.
Do you have a window called "Sidebar" (it could have also the Task List)?
Which skin are you using? Maybe I could guide you better.

I'm using a modified version of the Bimon skin. I took the Bimon skin and changed it a bit to suit my needs. Is there something in the skin settings that is possibly making the Task List immovable?

Did you modified the settings or the skin's files (xml, lua)?
There's an option in the General tab to block in position all the windows, but not one by one.
