TOPIC: Accessing Calendar from 2 PCs
#20108
Accessing Calendar from 2 PCs 5 Months, 3 Weeks ago
I am new to Rainlendar and very much like the unobtrusive calendar and having it on the desktop.

I installed it on my travelling PC but now realise I cannot access the calendar from my main PC at home (both wi fi).

Can someone please tell me how to do that? I am sure this has been answered many times before but I cannot find it.

Very many thanks

If you are in the same network and you don't access the calendar file from two places at the same time you can just move the file to a shared folder (change the Filename in Options->Calendars). If you want to connect to the same events also from the internet you can set up e.g. a CalDAV server and connect Rainlendar with it. You can also store the events e.g. to the Google Calendar if you don't want to set up a server of your own. Note that the CalDAV and Google Calendar support are only available in the Rainlendar Pro.

Thank you for your reply.

I am sorry I don't understand what you mean about the same network or about moving the file to a shared folder.

I installed Rainlendar on my travelling PC and then realised I couldn't see it on my main home PC as well which is what I need to do, both Events and To Dos.

Please would you tell me how to do it through Google Calendar.

Thanks

You can find step by step instructions how to connect to the Google Calendar from Rainlendar's help. Once you have set up the Google Calendar you can choose where the event is stored from the bottom left corner of the event editor. The events which you store to Google's server can be accessed from other computers too as long as you have internet connectivity.

Thanks. I expect you realise that I do not know much about it and I know nothing about calendars.

I am thinking of giving up which would be a shame as it is very good.

Thanks for your help.
