TOPIC: Display calendar over VNC

Display calendar over VNC 7 Years, 9 Months ago
Hello. First time poster, long time user. Recently, I got an idea to mount a laptop on my wall, monitor reversed, to display a calendar (rainlendar) and stream television. Sadly, when I remote in to the laptop through tightVNC or pcanywhere9, the calendar is not displayed. It shows up on the laptop still, but not on the computer I am using to remote in. I would like to be able to remotely change events on the laptop. I am sure it is some setting or something, but after a few weeks of occasional tinkering I have thrown in the towel. Hopefully someone here can help. Thanks.

You could consider registering rainlendar so you get the pro feature of shared calender, then set up a simple server to share a calendar, and do it that way. (or use ical exchange www.icalx.com/ )
That way you won't even have to VNC to the laptop to see/update/delte/cow your calendar items.

It's not really an answer to your problem, but an oppinion of a alternative sollution.

Try disabling the native transparency. VNC doesn't show transparent windows.
