different language users 7 Months, 1 Week ago
Hi,
I have a computer with users from different countries, this is a public library. I have installed a desktop shortcut to start raincalendar. My problem is that usually people doesnt know the program so they doesnt know how to change the language. My question is: Can I have on the desktop different shortcuts that they start rainlendar in a determined language? its to say one shortcut that starts rainlendar in English, another shortcut that starts it in Spanish and so on.

Thankyou, and best regards.

You would need to create a separate configuration (i.e. rainlendar2.ini file) for each language. You can choose the configuration file path from the command line with the --config argument.

They are all listed in the Rainlendar's Help under Options in User Guide.

Definitely, I havent got it.

This is what I did:

I started rainlendar in Spanish, closed it, went to the folder where rainlendar.ini is located, made a copy of it and renamed the copy as ES.ini.

I started rainlendar again, changed the language to English, closed and repeated the process getting a file called EN.ini

Then I made a copy of the shurtcut that I had on the desktop and renamed it "Rainlendar ES" and in "Target" I copied after the route of the program --config and the route of the new ini file, at the end I had: "C:\Program Files\Rainlendar2\Rainlendar2.exe" --config "C:\Users\Tombuctu\.rainlendar2\ES.ini"

When I click on the shortcut I get an error message saying:
Unable to create configuration file:
C:\Users\Tombuctu\.rainlendar2\ES.ini
Make sure that the folder has write permissions

The folder .rainlendar2 is marked as read only, when I change this option it says that its ok, but again I see that continues as read-only...

Anyway what I dont understand is if the program need to write not just to read, in any case the program usually write on this folder.

Please, can you help me?
