Default to Public 6 Years, 2 Months ago
|
|
|
How can I make new events default to public. I use a separate calendars for public and private so having private functionality is not necessary at all. The problem im running into is really with phpicalendar, but I would think being able to allow it to default to Public would be a helpful option, not just in my specific case.
Thanks
Rob

Try this:
- Unzip the event.xrs
- Find this line from the xrc-file: <label>Private</label>
- Under it is a line: <checked>1</checked>
- Change it to: <checked>0</checked>

That did the trick. Thanks. Maybe that can be an editable option in the future?

I'd really like to see this as an editable option too.
I've just helped my parents move over to using Google Calendar with Rainlendar (instead of just Rainlendar with a local ICS) and I had to hack in this change for them, because otherwise they'll never remember to uncheck the box and sharing our calendars with each other would be rather pointless.
PS: Sorry to bring up such an old thread, but I didn't see the sense in starting a new one over this.

This thread seems to be very old, but I'm also interested in the answer. It refers to some files that I can't find, and the links don't seem to work. Can you give up updated instructions on how to set all events to "public" by default? I can't seem to figure out how to create an event template. Thanks!
