TOPIC: Won't start up when booting up

Won't start up when booting up 7 Years, 7 Months ago
Hi all,

I have tried to get Rainlendar to start up when I boot into Ubuntu, using Sessions-->Startup Programs. In there, I put the directory location of the executable file (~/Folder/rainlendar2/rainlendar2) but when I restart, it doesn't start.

Am I doing something wrong? I'm using Dapper, BTW.

Thanks!
Eric

Try using an absolute path instead. And check from the System Monitor if the process is running or not. It might be even though the windows are not visible.

Thanks for your reply. If I understand "absolute path" correctly, then I do have it listed - I merely abbreviated for the sake of the post. The path I've specified in System --> Sessions --> Startup Programs is:

/home/eric/System/Installation Files/rainlendar2/rainlendar2

This is the absolute path, right? And I checked my System Monitor, but rainlendar is not listed there.

Hmm... perhaps the space in the path causes the problem. Try putting quotes around it or use a path without spaces.

That worked! I guess it was the spaces in the path that threw it off. This time, I installed Rainlendar in /home/eric/ - keep it simple. When I start up, I see Rainlendar - hoorah!

Thanks for your help. This is a great app.
