TOPIC: only runs as 'sudo ./rainlendar2'
only runs as 'sudo ./rainlendar2' 9 Years, 9 Months ago

I've been using Rainlendar for several years now. In fact Rainlendar is why I
finally switched to XP.

However I can't run it in Ubuntu (7.0.4) without using sudo. I've been through
several of the other posts so I can provide some needed info up front.

sudo ./rainlendar2 --debug gives

mred@Mary-gu:~/Desktop/rainlendar2$ sudo ./rainlendar2 --debug

gdb ./rainlendar2 gives

mred@Mary-gu:~/Desktop/rainlendar2$ gdb ./rainlendar2

I have gotten the following lines in the terminal window on 2 occasions.

(rainlendar2:6802): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_drawable_get_size: assertion `GDK_IS_DRAWABLE (drawable)' failed
(rainlendar2:6802): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_drawable_get_depth: assertion `GDK_IS_DRAWABLE (drawable)' failed

And lastly it always opens in the same position on the screen even when I move
it and 'Lock windows in place', and off center on both the screen and to it's
self. http://web.newsguy.com/redwdc/images/rainlendar.png

Rainlendar is probably unable to write its settings fr some reason. Try creating the settings file to the program folder (touch rainlendar2.ini) to see if that helps. After that the log file should be written to the same folder too.
