Google Calendar authentication error 6 Years, 12 Months ago
Hey there. I've been using 0.22.1 for years and I was super excited to discover that there's a new version available. I'm testing out the Google Calendar synchronization, but I'm getting an authentication error, even though I've triple-checked to be sure that I'm using my full gmail.com email address as the username and using the correct password. I tried entering the name of my calendar in the appropriate field, but it didn't work either, so I'm back to leaving the field blank since I only have one calendar. I searched and didn't find anyone else reporting this problem, so I wonder what it could be. I'm in Vista. Here's the relevant portions of my debug log:

Code:

I can't imagine what the problem is, since it seems to be working fine for everyone else. Is there anything else I can try? Thanks.

There is a bug in the Rainlendar's Google plugin which can cause authentication problems if you use special characters in the password. Try changing your password or wait for the next build where the issue has been fixed.

Aha, that was it. I did have special characters in my password. I changed my password and it works great now. Thanks, I'm very happy with the new changes, so I'm going to go ahead and register it. Looking forward to the next build so I can change my password back.
