Can't start Rainlendar on Linux (not the old one) 7 Years, 3 Months ago
Hi all.

I tried to install Rainlendar2 on Linux (Ubuntu 7.04) and it fails to start for me, every time. No error message, no hangups.

I tried the stuff below first with 2.2 and then get 2.2 build 45 from the forums and tried the same again, with no different results.

After downloading and extracting, i copied the files to '~/.bin/rainlendar2' from there i tried to start it, both from nautilus and console. I get the common error ("can't create yxz", like it is reported and solved in the forum). I used the touch methode as explained here and after that, i get no more errors but rainlendar still won't start, at least it seems so, because nothing visibil happend.

Code:

ls -l /home/brutus/.bin/rainlendar2

The "Rainlendar2-brutus" is the lock file which would mean that Rainlendar is already running. If it is, kill it and try again (or start it with -m command line argument so it'll ignore the multiple instance check). It it's not, try to delete the lock file and see if that helps.
