Kubuntu : Rainlendar 2.01 works when it wants to.. 7 Years, 11 Months ago
Hello everybody, Hello Rainy,

I installed Rainlendar 2.01 on my Kubuntu Edgy and I make it start automatically following your explanations.

But sometimes, Rainlendar just doesn't start...!
So I double click on rainlendar2. but nothing!

Do you know what could be responsible of that ?

PS : I also noticed that deleting the ~/.config/.rainlendar2. and that works again.

Thaks for helping

What is surprising is the fact that Rainlendar2 sometimes works quite good.

Have you got an idea?

Thanks a lot.

See you all.

Is the log from a situation where Rainlendar didn't start? Could you create such log with --debug command line argument?

Have you checked that there isn't already a rainlendar2 process running when you try to start it?

I got the same problem in Ubuntu, too. But I also got a solution or at least a workaround for that problem:

It seems that Rainlendar doesn't recognise properly whether an instance is already running or not. So, sometimes it "believes" that there already is a running instance and won't start (there is no Rainlendar in the process monitor). It only starts with the "-m" switch for multi instances.

Rainy, I think you should check the instance recognition routine, it doesn't seem to work perfectly.

Well, it's not my routine. The single instance checker is provided by the framework. I did take a look at the code but I don't know enough of Unix programming that I could do anything about it.
