TOPIC: A bug with "Show desktop" button
#11238
A bug with "Show desktop" button 4 Years, 8 Months ago
I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate and rainlendar 2.6 b82.
I found a bug while press "Show desktop".
The calendar window disappear from the desktop.
I have to restart the program to get calendar appear again.
I'm not sure if this issue affect the other older Windows version.
I hope this report help.
Thanks in advance.

The "Show Desktop" brings the desktop window on top of all applications so all applications will disappear. You can either set the window's position to On Top to keep it visible or use Win+M to minimize the applications instead.

Re: A bug with "Show desktop" button 4 Years ago
this one got me very confused. i thought it was due to my switching to xp 64bit.
then i found out the long way that there is a button on the download page "show all downloads", where I found a 64bit version, that I didn't think existed before.
Still the same problem. Then I found that with clicking the "show desktop" button the rainlendar interface would show/disappear alternately.
Yes, and then I found this thread by searching for "show desktop button", and setting the program to "On Top" fixed the problem. It it still not the best setting, because you will see the rainlendar all the time on top of all program windows. It must be "On Desktop" instead.
For many months I didn't use the program because of this behavior.

I think "On Desktop" should be the default setting.

Thank you for the 64bit version.

Side note: The link for "want new skins?" on the download page is disappointing, since there are no pictures of the skins. It should direct to the page that comes up by the submenu item of "Download"/Skins.

The problem with the "On Desktop" setting previously was that it didn't work at all with Windows Vista/7. The new version uses a different approach which should work better but I need to get some feedback first before I feel comfortable to make it the default.

The new skins link in the download page is fixed now.

thank you very much for your immediate response.
since I am not following microsoft beyond xp, i cannot give any feedback on V/7.
for me everything works nicely on xp64 pro now - very happy about that.

one thing: I wish the login procedure for a reply in the forum would redirect to the forum page one was viewing when the login button was hit. It throws you completely out of the forum.
