No change; all seems status quo.
Any ideas?

Is there any difference if you create a new empty calendar file on the network drive and add the event to there?

Ok, partial success. New Calendar (empty), adding new events/editing are instantaneous. However, after importing data from old calendar, same problem...how do I import data and maintain access speed ?
Thanks.

The problem is that reading the ics file in your system is really slow for some reason. If the file is empty there is not much to read so things work fine. It's really difficult for me to do anything about the problem without access to your system since I can't reproduce the problem myself.
What you can do is to keep your old events in a separate calendar and start using a new ics file for your current events. Setting up a ftp or http server to store the events would most likely help too.

Thanks for the info; found a better way...for me.
I've got SharePort on my router. I put the datafile on a usb key and updates on the network are now 1-2 secs.
Thanks.
Bill
P.S. Still really stumped on the delay in my systems/network. Oh well, I'll blame Microsoft! ha ha.
