You probably have to search for help from the Gentoo user forums. It's been ages since I've used Gentoo and I don't think I've ever tried to run Rainlendar on it so I'm not sure how it differs e.g. from Ubuntu from that perspective. One option would be to compile the libraries from their original packages and see if that works but you should be careful with that since especially the openssl library is a critical part of the whole operating system. You might try to set up e.g. a chroot jail for Rainlendar and do the testing in there.

The problem seemed to be too aggressive compile options, including link time and graphite optimizations for the whole system.

i changed the compile flags to the following:

CFLAGS="-march=corei7 -O3 -pipe"
CXXFLAGS="${CFLAGS} -finline-functions"

and rebuild my whole system
Code:

$ emerge -eq world

afterwards rainlendar started.

problem solved.
