TOPIC: Window docking in portrait mode

Window docking in portrait mode 7 Years, 3 Months ago
Hi,

I'm having problems with window docking in portrait mode (I'm running a 8800 GTS in 1200 x 1600). Even with the recent beta version 2.1 build 42, the windows do not dock to the right screen edge for me. The (filled) Events window also does not dock to the top and left screen egdes, but it does dock to the taskbar and to the other windows. The (empty) ToDo and Calendar windows dock fine to everything except the right screen edge.

Any chance to fix this? Thanks!

You need to restart Rainlendar if you change the resolution or orientation of the screen. The new screen dimensions are not detected otherwise. This is a limitation of the wxWidgets framework Rainlendar uses.

I'm always using my screen in portrait mode. Even the login screen when starting Windows already is in portrait mode, and Rainlendar is started afterwards on every boot. Still, I have the described problems.

I tried this by rotating the screen with the Nvidia Control Panel and at least in my setup the window snapping worked just fine. The only reason I can think of why it wouldn't work is that the OS gives incorrect screen dimensions to Rainlendar in which case there is very little I can do about it.

You're probably right, on another machine everything works fine in portrait mode. It's probably a driver issue ... thanks for testing!
