Crash after adding entry in rainlendar (gutsy) 6 Years, 11 Months ago
I'm using rainlendar 2.2 b51 on Ubuntu Gutsy. After clicking "OK" to add a new entry, i get this:

Code:

(rainlendar2:13912): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: instance of invalid non-instantiatable type `(null)'

Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.

#8  0x09018998 in ?? ()
#9  0x00000000 in ?? ()

Then, rainlendar crashes.

Also, the entry is saved anyway, so the next time I start rainlendar, the entry is there.

This happens for both the deb and the tar binaries.

Hmmm... there isn't any Rainlendar's code in the call stack. Does the same happen with the tasks too? Are you saving the events into the Default calendar? Is that the only place where Rainlendar crashes or can you make it to crash some other way too?

Yes, happens with tasks. I'm using the default calendar too. Also crashes when opening "Manager..." then closing it.

(I have a hunch! I'm using a gtk hack to put menubars on top of the screen. Maybe it's looking for a menubar or something.)

If you've made some modifications to gtk I probably cannot help you in that case. The wxWidgets framework I'm using handles all the platform dependent UI stuff so I know very little about gtk programming.

Hey, thanks for your time. The crash _is_ due to the gtk modification. It's gone now :]

(For anyone else with the same problem with rainlendar2 and the mac menubar gtk hack, add this to your .bashrc: export GTK_MENUBAR_NO_MAC='acroread gnome-macmenu-applet gnome-panel xfce4-macmenu-plugin xfce4-panel rainlendar2')

Off topic question: Rainlendar isn't open-source, is it? Not that I want to see the code...
