TOPIC: Language option keeps going back to "Default"

Language option keeps going back to "Default" 3 Years, 8 Months ago
I run Ubuntu 10.10 (64bit, English)

Here is what I did, in chronological order:
1. Uninstalled the last beta version
2. Installed the new 2.8.1
3. Opened rainlendar via the main menu
4. Downloaded the German.r2lang file
5. Dropped the file over one of the rainlendar windows

I have the shadow4 skin addon installed, so the calendar language immediately changed to German, the headings for the todo list and the events list also changed. Still English: event and todo categories (Monday next week, Tuesday next week, ...) as well as menu and dialogs.

6. Opened the options dialog and changed the language to German.

Nothing happened.

7. Opened the options dialog again - the language was reset to "Default" (as mentioned, my System is English)

I tried a few more times, always with the same result. I checked that the strings are not missing in the .r2lang file. Why will the language option not keep my selection?

On Linux you need to install the language support to the operating system too:

Code:

sudo apt-get install language-support-de

Yes, that and logging out and back in did the trick. Thanks!
