A Window in a window ? 4 Years, 4 Months ago
Hi all, New to this forum and Rainlendar

I manage to play with all sorts of scripts and skins. I made one and installe the weather with RSS feed. Works great. I found, on the forum, another post for Moon phases. I installed it, work also. Now I have 3 windows that I see all the time. My calendar, my moon phase and my weather window. I would like to incorporate the moon phase window in my weather window so I could place the moon just under the weather infos. Can I do that ? and if yes, How please ?

Thanks !

Yes, you can do that. You need to edit the skin's xml files and copy the "window"-element's contents from the moon phase window to the weather window. After that adjust the positions so that the items don't overlap and increase the size of the window to fit everything. The Shadow4 skin contains a window called Sidebar which includes the calendar, event list and todo list all inside the same window. You can use that as an example.

A <window> element will always create a new window even if they are defined in the same xml file. Try something like this:

<window id="Combined">
<calendar>...</calendar>
<image id="Weather" />...
<image id="Moonphase" />...
</window>

ok it does not work. I don't understand fully again. What you tell me in the last post, do I put this in the Calendar.xml ? or Skin.xml ? Cause each of the window has a "oncreate" command to initialize the UA file I think. So when I put in one file, what happens with this command ?

The RSS for the weather has to initialize...etc etc...

When I use the method you tell me, I see the various images but the infos for the weather is not applied...

grrrrr it has been 4 days that I am on this, getting a headeack and loosing my hair lollll

Hope you can help me.

Thanks for you patience.
