TOPIC: Changing background image fetched from webserver

Changing background image fetched from webserver 6 Years, 9 Months ago
Would it be possible to create a skin for rainlendar that looks approx. like the image below and has following functionality:

  • Background image & info text are fetched from a webserver (using xml)
  • Rainlendar elements (e.g.calendar, events & todo, ..) are placed on fixed locations over the image
  • Events from calendar are combined with events from webserver (fetched using xml)

Is it possible, and if ... how much effort would it be? Can somebody help with this? (of course against payment)

Kind regards,

Markus

I don't think it's so simple. I neither did find a skin example where content is fetched from a webserver nor did I find a skin where the rainlendar widgets (events, TODO, calendar) are placed fixed over a background image.

The background image can not be just a desktop background image or similar as the widget is supposed to be distributed as part of a marketing campaing.

It is true that, for the moment, there is no parser RAINMETER as in the use of a content downloaded from the Web to be displayed in a window requires a parser.
Using RainMeter seems more appropriate

Placing the calendar and the lists on the same window is not a problem. The sidebar window in the Shadow4 skin does it like this so you can use that as an example.

Downloading images from a webserver is not supported.
