o It's possible to use special filters (e.g. "category:important") in the manager's search field.
o Clicking the category, status or priority in the manager will automatically set the filter for it.

Still I think sorting
is a necessity, as it was possible in the old manager. E.g. without sorting, I cannot have a quick overview about which categories I have used. In the old manager, it was possible to sort by category and then quickly scroll through the list in order to get an idea.
Others may want to sort by subject. Sorting is a must

Can you explain what the buttons "Show original" "Show current" exactly mean?
"Show original" -> "Show all"?
"Show current" -> Hmm, here it also shows events from the past, starting from 2011. "Show current year"?
EDIT: Hmmm, aha, "Show original" shows the first appearance of recurring events...
