The last years I was using WinXP and Rainlendar in "On Desktop" mode.

But now I upgraded to Win7 and had to learn that the On Desktop mode no longer works. Therefore I now use "On Bottom" but this mode is a bit dissatisfying because I usually press Win+D to get access to Rainlendar - but in "On Bottom" mode Rainlendar minimizes, too.

From my point of view this seems to be the only difference between "On Desktop" and "On Bottom". As a programmer I know that you can change/disable the handling of all minimization messages (WM_SYSCOMMAND SC_MINIMIZE).

IMHO this might be a possibility to provide the "On Desktop" mode even on Vista and Win7 systems.

The "Show Desktop" does not cause applications to minimize but instead it brings the desktop window on top of other windows. You can minimize the applications with Win+M which will leave Rainlendar visible since it doesn't support minimization.
