i am really sorry to do this, but i completely forgot that i had some more code to give to you for the rss.lua file. hopefully you can just copy and paste what i have. you can blame slashdot for most of these fixes.

just add the following to the
-- Clean the data
s = string.gsub(s, "&(.-);", ... part of the rss.lua file.

hmmm... although i put the actual characters into the code there, it doesn't appear that your forum supports the last 8 characters. go here HTML Codes to get them. they are the eight at the bottom. i tried to make sure to include everything you didn't already have that had a 'friendly' code.

not sure why but the mdash doesn't appear to be working. there is a slashdot.org article (from the feed slashdot feed) on Friday, August 19, 2011 7:54 PM that continues to display the — after i added the change in my rss.lua. no clue what is going on... maybe the widget itself doesn't like to display that kind of dash?

The slashdot feed is encoded twice which is the reason some of the coded characters are not shown. I did some changes to the script so it should work better now.
