Hi,

As someone who uses notes a lot in Calendar and ToDo entries, would it be possible to add some basic formatting capabilities to the text?

ideally, I'd like the following (this is in my priority order):

Bullet points
Indenting
Bold
Numbered lists
Italics
Different fonts
Different colours for fonts
Different sizes for fonts
Underline

Indenting and the lists probably are possible. Changing the font's properties cannot be done with the current drawing routines.

Is that generally supported by other applications capable of iCal (such as Sunbird, KOrganizer)? If it is, great. If not, I fear that it will make a mess for us multiple-application chaps...

Other apps probably do not support it but I was thinking about implementing it the wiki style so the text is still readable on other calendars too.

E.g. a bullet list would be entered like this:

* Task1
* Task2
** SubTask1
* Task3

... and Rainlendar would automatically change the asterix to bullets and set the correct indentation of the lines.

I remain humble - I should have known you wouldn't mess up. In that case, obviously, it is a brilliant idea.

On a slightly different note. As I see jotting notes has come up a lot lately, I see that Kontakt (KDE) supports something called JOURNAL that adds to the ics file. I keep all such unorthodox stuff in a separate ics file, but although it doesn't show up in Rainlendar, it is also not changed or deleted by Rainlendar. I am sure you are aware of this, but IF you consider the notes stuff, I would favour the journal entries supported by Kontact (and I hope ics spec). Could be useful, I suppose, although it would hardly be on the top priority list as far as I am concerned.
