TOPIC: Folder for user scripts

Folder for user scripts 11 Months, 4 Weeks ago
Is it possible to put the scripts not only into the main program folder (i.e. "%ProgramFiles%/Rainlendar/scripts" on Windows), but into the user settings directory as well (i.e. "%USERPROFILE%\.rainlendar2\scripts") ?

It's not easy to add/change the scripts in the main program directory - some users could not have the write permissions there, and additionally, it's better to have all user files together in one place - so, in user directory.

It's not supported at the moment but I can change that.

As user scripts directory been implemented recently?
I would also suggest:
"%ProgramFiles%/Rainlendar2/scripts" For all users (read only)
"%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\.rainlendar2\scripts" For all users (shared)
"%USERPROFILE%\.rainlendar2\scripts" For a user

In the meanwhile: How could I detect the current user from Lua?

You can put the scripts also to %USERPROFILE%\.rainlendar2\scripts folder.

The username can be read e.g. from the environment variable:
Code:

os.getenv("username")
