TOPIC: New built for Ubuntu 17.10 or AppImage
#24711
New built for Ubuntu 17.10 or AppImage 2 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Hi all,

as the subject says, an built for Ubuntu 17.10 would be nice because the current one can't be installed. Maybe in the long run moving to AppImage is a win because you dont need to build packages for serveral distributions.

best regards

AppImage looks interesting. I'll consider creating one for Rainlendar. However, you should be able to install the latest beta version of Rainlendar into 17.10 if you install the libicu55 manually from a deb package (I'll get rid of that dependency in the next build).

I need an Ubuntu 17 version, too. Actually lightning is not working in Thunderbird, so I have no calender in Linux.

How long will this need? Is there any way to support this?

Ok, the missing Package libicu55 can be installed manually by downloading the deb: packages.ubuntu.com/en/xenial/amd64/libicu55/download

But my CalDav-Calendar is not working (message: "The URL ... contains no calendars") and there are some display problems with the fonts.
