If I understand correctly, no, there is no editable year window (or day/week/month for that matter). While I would not mind having that feature in Rainlendar, the simple workaround is to use another calendar app to edit with those views. You could use Sunbird (sluggish) or MyPhoneExplorer (if you are of SonyEricsson inclination).
The latter, MPE (fjsoft.at) works very elegantly and syncs between phone and rainlendar beautifully - and gives you a very functional day/month view to work with. But it doesn't show the entire year (but if you need to pick days quickly, you could put the year on your desktop).
That said, I sympathise with the need - sometimes - to pick a date, quickly say half a year in the future. That could however also be implemented in the date-entry field in event (task) window - a pulldown that shows a year instead of just a month. Then again, not really a big deal for me.
