log file sent. (BTW: I accidentally overwrote the debug log file with the "normal" log file (not being aware of the fact, that rainlendar writes a log file in normal mode, too). Perhaps the debug log file could have a distinct name?

Yes, your assumption is probably correct (see Appendix). I can not send the original event, because I changed it. If the error persists, I will send it.
Thanks J.K.
PS: The event is stored in google calendar. Where is the search function of Rainlendar? It gave them earlier in the Administration menu http://www.rainlendar.net/cms/images/fbfiles/images/Rainlendar_3.jpg

The category defines the events where the years are added to the title so you would have to create a second category for the birthdays. You can use the same appearance as with the build-in birthdays. The categories can be created in Options->Skins (click the categories button).

I'm wondering, if it's possible to set the Birthday date to "unknown" year.

It means, event is shown as "Birthday" (icon, color ), however, the years are not calculated, even if "Add years after summary" checkbox is on.

Any chance to do this without adding one more event (like "Birhday_with_unknown_year") ?

It's probably caused by some event that you have in your calendar. The beta versions have the asserts enabled so you see these from time to time. It would be useful if you can attach the event so I can try to check what exactly is the reason for the assert. If you don't know what event is causing the problem you can just click cancel and ignore the issue or go back to the official release version.

Are you deleting the event from the calendar or e.g. from the manager dialog (or does that make any difference)? You should get an error if Rainlendar is not able to delete the event from the ics file but I guess you are not getting any? Can you run Rainlendar in the debug mode and send the debug log (http://www.rainlendar.net/cms/index.php?option=com_easyfaq&Itemid=26#faq21) to me? I can try check what exactly happens when the event is deleted. You can send the log to Rainlendar's support address but include a link to this forum thread so I know what it is about.

Hello,

I have migrated to Railendar Pro. The old events are stored in ..\.rainlendar2\default.ics. When I delete an event, it disappears from the screen, but after the next refresh, it reappears. I checked: in default.ics the event is not deleted. Manually editing defaulty.ics removes the event. Shouldn't the default.ics be adjusted automatically? Or do I do something wrong?

The problem is not in Rainlendar so installing a previous version will not help. This can happen even if you have never even used Rainlendar before. Certain events in your calendar just cause the Google Calendar API to fail with the error 500. There are plans to upgrade to the newer version of the API in Rainlendar but it requires that everything is written from scratch. And there is no guarantee that it will even make the problem go away.

Well, YOU guys need fix Rainlender then.

Obviously no one is going to: "If changing the "Import Limit" setting doesn't help the only other option is to try to find the problematic event from your calendar. You can do that by creating a new calendar to your Google account and moving the events to it one by one until the server doesn't return the error 500 anymore. After you find the event you can delete it (and recreate if you wish) and copy the moved events back to your original calendar."

I DID change the 'limit' and I still get the same error. When will YOU guys fix this? If you can't then maybe you should have people use Google Calendars. OR have a better solution than "creating a new calendar.."

So I still need HELP. I love Rainlender and it WAS working before just fine. Is there a previous Pro version I should install?

Your libc seems to be too old. It might be quite tricky to update that since it is used basically every application in your system so you probably just have to wait until SLED upgrades the library. In the mean time you can try one of the older versions (http://www.rainlendar.net/download/) and see if they work.

You should start by downloading (http://www.rainlendar.net/cms/index.php?option=com_rny_download&all=1) the *.tar.bz2 version of Rainlendar and uncompressing the files to some folder. Then just try to run rainlendar2 from the folder. If that doesn't work you can try to run the application from the terminal with "--debug" command line argument to enable the debugging. You can then check from the debug log (http://www.rainlendar.net/cms/index.php?option=com_easyfaq&Itemid=26#faq21) for possible errors.

If Rainlendar doesn't start it usually means that you don't have some 3rd party library installed or you have too old version of it. In most non-Ubuntu systems especially the required openssl library version is quite often older than what Rainlendar expects.

I'm new to Rainlendar and confused because a birthday reminder set for a certain day and month is repeated every month. For instance, I would set the date of birth as 15th June. Scrolling Rainlendar forwards and backwards through the consecutive months, I notice that 15th June is marked every month. It's as if the person has a birthday on the 15th of January, the 15th of February, etc. How exactly do I set a birth date to be shown only on the 15th of June?

OutlookPlugin.dll
RTMPlugin.dll

it says I should remove them. I see them all in the /plugins/ subfolder in Rainlender2.

What do I do? How do I bring in my Google Calendars?

thanks

The "Scale" value scales the whole window like an image so the texts will get blurry. If you just want your text bigger you can change that in Options->Advanced->"Font scale".

The error usually happens if your firewall prevents Rainlendar from accessing the internet so you should check that the application is not blocked.

A conflict means that the same event has been edited in Google's website between the time it was read by Rainlendar and edited in it. If you get this error repeatedly you need to refresh Rainlendar so that it will download the latest copy of the event from Google's server.

Hi Guys,

I'm on Ubuntu Linux 12.04 and would like to make the fonts larger in the events' list, todo list and calendar month view.

I tried adjusting the font size (scale?) from 100 to a higher number, but when I get the fonts large enough to read easily, they are blurry.

So now, I'm stuck between either having a cool looking desktop and squinting or an easy to read desktop that looks BAD - LOL.

Any ideas? (It sucks getting old) :-O
